“Normally, the core of a radiator is quite delicate. Standard radiators have very fine holes, which are easy to clog and difficult to clean. The cleaning is done with compressed air because anything else would damage the fins,” said Denehy. “Careful design has made Mesabi radiators incredibly robust. With our radiators, the walls of the fins on the tubes are heavier and thicker, so they bend easily and can be cleaned with a high-pressure water or steam cleaner. You can hit the tubes with full pressure, and they won’t be damaged.”

“The convenience of a Mesabi radiator affects everything else in a machine,” said Denehy. “It keeps the engine running cooler, up to 10 degrees cooler, which helps it last longer. Within the V-Tube model, the corners of the radiator’s fins are removed, creating a V-shape and allowing for an open airway that lets debris flow through without getting stuck.
“It’s kind of like getting a piece of paper and snipping off the corners with a pair of scissors,” said Denehy. “It’s simple, it works really well, and it doesn’t detract from the cooling properties of the tube. It makes the V-Tube the best choice for environments where clogging is a major issue.”
